La Maline
is an old stone house built
in 1870, where once lived the
owner of a farm. It's a typical
house of the region "Charente-Maritime"
called a "Charentaise." We fell
in love with it one day while
we were taking a walk, and we
decided to buy it in 2006. It
was restored in 2007 and then
we chose to turn it into a guest
house for people who whish to
discover our country, our landscape
and our lovely town in authentic
fashion.
We welcome our guests with great
pleasure and special attention
because we believe that direct
contact with the inhabitant
is a very enriching way of exchanging
culture.
So we are pleased to welcome
you in our home in Trizay, bordered
by a charming landscaped garden,
with a private garage.
We have reserved for you spacious
and tastefully decorated rooms
with a double bed, private shower
and toilet, and built-in closet.
All room rates are based on
double occupancy (2 people)
and in "Harmonie" or in "Mélodie"
additional person is 25 € per
day (a maximum of 3 people per
suite is requested). Rates include
breakfast and taxes.
Our authentic breakfast includes
freshly-squeezed juice, homemade
preserves, fruit purchased at
the local market as well as
coffee/tea and French breakfast
pastries. All will be served
in a relaxed, yet elegant environment
between 8:30 and 9:30am.
Depending on the season, weather
permitting, you may eat in the
charming garden under the trees
or in the indoor dining area.
In the dining room, you can
have a special dinner on reservation
(please reserve two days in
advance) (In order to secure
your reservation, a minimum
deposit for one night stay is
required).
A perfect place to stay if you
seek discreet personal hospitality
in an authentic residential
atmosphere. In the privacy of
the second floor of our home,
a tastefully decorated room
and shower are at our guests'
disposition. Outdoors, a landscaped
garden provides a perfect spot
for relaxing or resting up after
a day of sightseeing. Rochefort,
La Rochelle and the surrounding
region are full of natural and
cultural sights of interest.
We welcome our guests with care
for we understand that personal
contact creates the best memories.
Reasons to visit the region

The Charente-Maritime has an
historical heritage of exceptional
wealth. The light along the
the region of the Atlantic coast
is spectacular, with a back
country full of harmonious contrasts...the
fine and golden sand of the
beaches of Charente-Maritime,
the île de Ré, the Ile d'Oléron,
the Ile d'Aix; slow sloping
hills of the valley of Charente;
the protected villages punctuated
with churches, chapels, abbeys
and the other monuments of Romanesque
art; the countryside or the
fields of wheat, barley, lucerne,
colza, vines and wood create
a magnificent mosaic offering
a unique color palette!
Places of delight : the old
harbor of La Rochelle, Talmont
on the estuary of the Gironde
in the South of Royan, the headlight
of whales in the île de Ré,
île d'Aix, Saintes' arenas,
the Corderie Royale in Rochefort
…and the frigate Hermione that
since 1997, in the ancient Naval
dockyard, has been passionately
reconstructed. This was the
ship which in 1780 allowed the
Marquis La Fayette to cross
the Atlantic Ocean to join America.
And of course, plenty of moonlit
strolls along the seaside...
